A beached outrigger

An outrigger being pushed to the high water mark at Tangalle, Sri Lanka.

The surf

I took the picture of a couple bathing in the Tangalle surf last month. Swathes of the beach front have been bought up by foreigners on a 99 year lease. Tourist guest houses and cabanas  line this area.

Emerald Dove.

I heard this bird on cooing away in a rubber plantation around 4pm. I spotted it and went below it to take a series of pictures. It did not fly away. It seemed so intent on its cooing.
