The 'Kabaragoya', Karandana, Sri Lanka.




The 'Kabaragoya' -S, is called the 'crocodile living on land' by the Sinhalese. It has a powerful tail with which it can inflict severe injury. It is seen quite often on unfrequented roads in present Sri Lanka.

Ruins at Panduwas Nuwara, Sri Lanka, 3rd Century BC.




These ruins date back to the 3rd century BC. Large buildings made of baked bricks are the hall-mark here. Granite pillars and stairways are there to see.
