This beautiful large flower blooms late after sunset. It has a sweet aroma when it opens. By morning it has totally wilted. Pious Buddhists in Sri Lanka await its opening to give it as a 'mal pooja' to an image of Lord Buddha

Ladies fingers - Large variety, Said to reduce blood sugar. cooked as a curry.

Brinjals - Egg-plant - cooked as a curry or fried slices made into a 'sambol'.

'Nivithi' S, 'Pasaly' T - Cooked as a curry.

A variety of green chillies - Hot, used in curries.
