Batticaloa was famous for its 'Kallady beach' which had acres of soft sand bordering the Indian Ocean.. Horse-play, booze and a delicious dinner with fresh sea-food was the order of the day on moonlit nights. The Tsunami devastated the area. It is back in better vigor as these photos show.
