Gloriosa superba: 'Niyangala' - Sinhalese: 'Kandal' - Tamil, flower, Wewalwaththe,

The flower of the 'Niyangala' or 'Kandal' is very beautiful. Its yam is poisonous and can cause death. I saw this in full bloom, in a wet humid environment, close to Rathnapura.
