A 'cadju-nut' after a parrot had got at its contents.

A cadju fruit has a very hard shell. It needs roasting in the fire before being smashed open. The parrots with their sharp teeth nibble their way and reach the fleshy kernel while the fruit is still green and hanging on the tree. The picture shows the result. I took this picture at Dehigahapitiya, Sri Lanka.
