Sample.
The town is booming.
But a few hundred yards off, it is rural and likely to remain so.
This is the pattern in the rest of the country too, towns developed so that people can buy almost anything there without recourse to long treks to far off towns or cities.
Example Kurunegla is a bigger centre for recon. Cars and spares than Colombo. People just ring up on cell phones and the item will be delivered wherever needed.
In Jaffna the standard cost of a fridge is what we in Colombo have to wait for cut rates or sales!
Cheers.
