There is always a beautiful sunset to view anywhere in Sri Lanka. The one above I saw on the  Low-level road past Hanwella on the road to Colombo.

The town of Haldumulla was a ramshackle affair about 50 years ago. It is now a place full of shops and boutiques catering to the travelers on the road to Badulla.

The highway in front and a stream behind give this ancient rock temple a quaint beauty. Monkeys playing on the branches of the trees there and the different types of bird life are other added attractions.

Dowa is a few miles from Badulla, near Demmodara on the road to Bandarawela. This ancient rock temple is said to date from the time of King Valagambahu at the beginning of the Present Era. The figure sculpted on the rock is said to have been completed in a single day by a master craftsman.
