I saw this Brahminy Kite perched on the 'sentinel post' of the old Dutch Fort at Batticaloa. The second picture shows the sentinel post from the top of which the bird flew away a moment ago.

The old bridge at Kallady, crossing the Batticaloa lagoon is seen in this picture taken from the ramparts of the Dutch Star Fort, across the lagoon. A new bridge is being built and will wipe away this view when the bridge is completed..
