We DID NOT enter the Hakgala Gardens as the entry fee for non Sri Lankan Identity Card holders was Rs.1100/- each. A Sri Lankan bystander told us to see the Nuwara Eliya Gardens where the show was better and cheaper - Rs.300/- for foreigners. No ID card was needed to prove that you were a Sri Lankan.

I saw these mushrooms come out of the soil one morning. No one eats these as some of them are poisonous.

Now that the rainy season has started there are a different kinds of flowers are blooming in our garden with the cooler climate of 24 degrees Celsius in the mornings..

You can identify tghe plantain, breadfruit and jak trees in the garden of the hospital. Every year an auction was held among the staff of the hospital.

Every year an auction was held among the staff of the hospital. The highest bidder had access to all the produce from the trees in the hospital premises. The trees included plantains, breadfruit, jak, coconut, arecanut, mango etc.
